International Juried Art Competition
April 2021
Art Show International announces their "HOW I REMEMBER 2020" International Juried Art Competition. All visual artists from around the world are invited to submit their best artworks on the theme for inclusion in the exhibition. All types of art styles may be submitted, including both 2D and 3D works, painting, sculpture, digital, printmaking, fiber, photography, graphic, mixed media, as well as experimental and installation works.
Here's what we've been up to lately...
Theme
The theme of this international juried art competition is HOW I REMEMBER 2020. For most Earthlings, 2020 has been an unprecedented time that left an indelible mark on every soul. The grief, the rage, the callousness that appeared so pervasive – and yet – the sacrifice, the love, the empathy that arose from it so genuine! While Epi-Pen and N95 became commonplace, we discovered we didn’t need social distancing to experience the consequences of the different shades of skin we wear. Or that breathing may not be a universal right for those wearing darker shades among us. For this competition, share what has best captured your artistic imagination about the year 2020 – the joy, the sorrow, and everything in between. Artists are free to apply their own interpretation in representing the overall theme. Representational and abstract ideas based broadly on this theme, in any media, will be considered. Category
All types of visual arts will be considered, including but not limited to Painting & Mixed Media, Photography & Digital, and Sculpture & 3D Installation.
Deadline
The deadline for submission is February 28th, 2021.* EXTENDED
* The deadline may be extended in case of submission disruptions from artists due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Awards
Up to $500 in cash prizes will be given out to winners.** The grant money will be unrestricted and may be used in any manner by the recipient artist. Depending on the number and quality of artworks submitted, the following prizes will be considered:
First Prize Award $150
Merit Prize Award (Painting) $100
Merit Prize Award (Photography) $100
Merit Prize Award (Sculpture) $100
Talent Prize Award $50
Honorable Mention Award
Finalist Award
Winning artworks from all artists will be displayed on Art Show International's gallery walls. Winners who do not qualify for cash prizes will still receive widespread recognition through extensive promotion via social media, monthly newsletters, and in the news media. At the conclusion of the Annual Art Show, the winning artworks will be archived and considered for future publication as full page print edition in leading art magazines.
** In case there are joint winners for any of the cash prizes the money will be split evenly among contestants. Similarly, if a category does not receive enough entries to be judged fairly within that category alone, it will be considered alongside other categories with sufficient submissions.
Fees
The entry fee for each artwork is $10 (non-refundable), with up to 5 submissions for each artist.

How to Apply
1. Choose the number of artworks you'd like to submit from one of the five options below.
2. Click on the number of artworks and proceed to make a payment. You can pay by PayPal or credit card.
3. After successful payment, you'll be redirected back to where you can upload your images and other details.
