Tara Kissoon’s art exemplifies her altruistic nature and aims to create a serene experience incorporating a curative approach. Her artwork displays a three-dimensional perspective of architecture, landscapes, and portraits using a combination of acrylic painting, pencil, charcoal, and pastels.

"Varanasi is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, dating to the 11th century B.C. Regarded as the spiritual capital of India, the city draws Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the Ganges River’s sacred waters and perform funeral rites. Along the city's winding streets are some 2,000 temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, the "Golden Temple," dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It is one of the most sacred sites in India because it is believed to have been the home of Lord Shiva."

What makes Tara’s art unique: Tara’s art is developed through imagery and inner feelings, sharing with her audience a unique visual art illustration in two- and three-dimensional form.

"The Acropolis, and the Parthenon in particular, are the most iconic monuments of the ancient Greek civilization. It continues to stand as a symbol in many ways: it is the symbol of democracy and the Greek civilisation. It also symbolises the beginning of Western civilisation and stands as the icon of European culture. The main reason why the Acropolis is important to Greek architecture is that it was used to worship the goddess Athena. It houses a number of famous Greek buildings."

To capture the meaning of her art, Tara also embeds music and audio, which are also used to describe the significance of her body of work. This experience can be viewed in Tara Kissoon’s gallery located on Canada’s Virtual Mall at www.thevirtualmall.ca and is currently not for sale.

What does Tara want her art to say to her audience? "The world is the great gymnasium where we come to make ourselves strong." Swami Vivekananda. Tara includes her art as illustrations within her children’s nonfiction chapter book series, Book 1: Simple Beginnings, "Never Give Up," Book 2: Road to Independence, and Book 3: Koala’s Vacation Adventures. The 1.7-mile-long Golden Gate Bridge, an icon of the San Francisco Bay region, connects the city of San Francisco to Marin County, California. Bridges represent a symbol of connection, stability, and progress."

"The Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become a world-famous symbol of London. The Crown Jewels, part of the Royal Collection, are the most powerful symbols of the British Monarchy and hold deep religious and cultural significance in the nation’s history. This magnificent and world-famous collection of 23,578 gemstones is located in the Tower of London."

Tara’s inspiration for her art and literature stems from her grandmother. Tara’s grandmother was a remarkable woman. She was a wonderful combination of warmth and kindness, love and laughter.

"The Burj Khalifa, known as the Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration in 2010, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. At over 828 meters (2,716.5 feet) and more than 160 stories, the Burj Khalifa holds the following records: tallest building in the world. Tallest free-standing structure in the world and highest number of stories in the world."

As a child, Tara was fortunate to have a loving grandmother, as Tara’s parents are divorced, and during the period from when she was born to the age of seventeen, Tara moved continuously. living in two countries, two provinces, and attending seven schools, including a private preschool in Georgetown, Guyana, and public and catholic schools in Canada.

"Diamond Tower is a 93-storey, 432-meter supertall skyscraper in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, whose construction is on hold as of July 2020. The wedge-shaped glass tower, which will have a facade made up of elongated diamond shapes, will be primarily for residential use. Once completed, it will become Saudi Arabia's second-tallest building and one of the tallest residential buildings in the world."

Tara’s art and literature provide elements of healthy childhood development fostered through a stable environment provided by her grandmother. "Don’t look back; look forward with infinite energy, infinite enthusiasm, infinite daring, and infinite patience; then alone can great deeds be accomplished." Swami Vivekananda.

A romantic walk along a warm beach. While sunsets are a literal end to a day, they are also a symbol of peace, harmony, and the promise of renewal. Sunsets are a great reminder to rest and reset our hearts and minds at the end of each and every day.

Tara’s artistic endeavors blossomed over the past five years with a shift of priorities in personal, academic, and professional pursuits. Her inner strength and perseverance are rooted in her mixed heritage of Hindu and Roman Catholic philosophy.
