Polzikova

Ksenia

RUSSIA

Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“I am Ksenia Polzikova, an artist brought up in the harsh cold weather, but with an ardent passion for art.”

The constant indifferent cold, penetrating to the bone, the endless waves of White Sea, and the lonely, silent trees – sounds rather ominous, doesn't it?

I emphasized the carpet and painted it bright red. This carpet was knitted with warm hands of my dear granny with the love that only grandparents have ro their grandchildren. It reminds me of my carefree childhood. The picture shows the unique atmosphere of comfort and safety I miss those days just enjoying being young and free and never dreamed about being grown up.

It was this kind of nature in the northern part of Russia that surrounded the life of one person. There aren’t many colors and shades here, but there is something that’s lovely, mysterious, and romantic in all this.

Oil

$700

This painting was inspired by no one and shows the image of insolence and challenge to society. She looks to us with self-defense and confidence. Her whole expression (colorful hair, piercing, make up and clothes)  cries about being unique and independent. In contrast to her deep glance that make her triste, shy and fragile as any other little girl.It won the international festival "Golden time"

The beauty of the cold expanses was stuck in a hot flame in the heart of a little girl. She saw the versatility, elegance, power of nature and appreciated the beauty of the people around her.

This is where the story of another artist begins.

“I felt a special thrill for drawing since childhood, when I first took a brush in my hand and after a while, I realized that I always wanted to try my skills from a professional side.”

I have a huge preference for oil painting, but I always try new tools, techniques, styles and materials. Enjoying the process, improving skills, developing my own writing style and gaining tremendous experience are important aspects for me.

I have always felt a special thrill for drawing since childhood, when I first took a brush in my hand and after a while, I realized that I always wanted to try my skills from a professional side.

I was inspired by the casual view from the window. I noticed the contrast of dark birds on white snow fighting for red berries. They were battling to get this very brunch while there were thousands of other. It doesn't make any sense to me. Sometimes animals remind me of people. We endlessly arguing about usual things that don't worth it too. That's the paradox. This picture took the second place in "World art project. Light up the stars" in Moscow (May 2017) and won the "art week" the same yea.

“My goal is not to be recognized by absolutely everyone. My goal is to convey the emotion for which I chose this plot of the painting, to achieve handling and exquisite work.”

It isn't a usual still-life for me. The picture is a bit chaotic, contrasting. Different people feel different way looking at the painting. Some of my friends told me they felt anxious about the red color. Some of them are relaxed standing by the picture. So now it's your turn to test it.

I have a huge preference for oil painting, but I always try new tools, techniques, styles and materials. Enjoying the process, improving skills, developing my own writing style and gaining tremendous experience are important aspects for me.

My happiness is to be in the creative process when I get to know more about myself and the world around me.

Describe your image

It is the painting of my beloved niece, Ann. Despite her not so long life she's gone through a lot of difficulties. Her story is unbelievable. In the picture she sits straight, her glance is full of strength and self-confidence.
Nevertheless she is gorgeous, gentle and fragile like the vase with the flower near her. It won the "international contest of portraiture" in July 2020 and the international festival "Golden time" (may 2020 ).

For me, the truth of personal experiences is important without the far-fetched unnecessary obsession.

My goal is not to be recognized by absolutely everyone. My goal is to convey the emotion for which I chose this plot of the painting, to achieve handling and exquisite work.

It all started with this fish. I liked the shinning and glittering of its scale and I decided to paint it. Then I thought it would be boring drawing just fish. So I created the atmosphere of artist's studio. Like he was painting and was seduced by the nice-looking fish and suddenly left his work for a beer. The artist left the note about it (in the lower right corner of the picture). This picture placed first in "St. Petersburg art week" (June 2020).It won the international festival "Golden time
