Chanda Raj is an artist whose art is characterized by layers of depth and resonance, colorful lyricism, and a plethora of tactile surfaces. She was born in India, New Delhi. She has been in the US for 18 years and is currently residing in Kansas.

The painting depicts an African woman who has some traditional outfits on her head and ears. This is an excellent background of the African continent known for its culture and heritage. Like Chanda’s piece of work, classical art has a significant historical significance. This piece of artwork, at first glance, looks like an ordinary African woman but a closer look gives us a different view. Green symbolizes the nature that Africa is much known for.

She has an intuitive approach to creativity and, with a fusion of realism with abstraction, comes to fruition through an innate and harnessed use of color and composition and deft use of acrylic paint
