Yellow and Black Photography Quote (1).p

“In a portrait of a person, you can see everything about the internal and everything about the external, in it you can catch emotional and psychological contradictions, connection with the world and other people.”

Revealing the hidden – that is the real duty of any artist. He breaks through visible phenomena to the essence of things that cannot be spoken about in words, he speaks about sensuality by using the sensory language, he is a conductor that allows you to establish a connection between the world of everyday life and the ideal world. The creative process is always an internal strain of the artist's soul, it is his sacrifice in order to break through and show what is inaccessible to the eye.

The work of "Épilogue" was in progress from 01/22/2020 to 05/09/2021. The picture is definitely symbolic, reflecting the unconscious that guides a person throughout his life. This is a picture of internal transformations and changes, where the subject acts as an active participant in his own life, and as a passive spectator, observing the internal movements of the soul, reflecting, evaluating the subject. These are mirrors of one personality, endlessly reflecting themselves.

Only the artist is able to go through mystical awe and horror in order to show the whole world his own (the world’s one) hidden horror. This is not a negative feeling of fear, it is a feeling of a certain ‘something’ that defies explanation, ‘something’ that one day each of us finds in himself, something that each of us encounters on his way of knowing and communicating with himself, others and the world.

This picture opens the cycle of works "Rêves", depicting the symbolism of dreams, the central symbol of this artwork is a raven, a harbinger of changes in the artist's interpretation.

The artist makes visible what hastily escapes us. Only the artist is able to reveal and show in the most honest and sometimes unsightly form the naked soul of a person, with all its weaknesses, wounds, worries, and at the same time with genuine crystal-clear beauty.

“The artist is able to show what intuitively we feel in another or in ourselves.”

The artist's style is his way of speaking with the world, the connection of understanding is established between the picture and the viewer through the tools used by the author - colors, chiaroscuro and composition. An artist's handwriting is like a person's character. Just as we, knowing a person, strive to communicate with him, because we expect from him a certain type of response, opinion or reaction, so we recognize an artist by the way he establishes contact with us. In addition, the act of creation is also an attempt by the artist himself to grasp his own vision, to fix what he saw from the inside, reflected in the subject of the image.

“The artist's works are so impressive because they echo in the souls of other people, find their reflection there, as if in a mirror, and at the same time make ‘something’ that eludes our vision to linger for a while. The artist's work is the dry residue of the life of any person, and therefore of a Person in general.”

The artist saves his own and someone else's memory by freezing on the canvas what needs to be preserved, it is like an endless return to the origins of an endless nostalgic feeling, without beginning and end, for what could never have happened, for what might even be to us unfamiliar. As a result, creativity and contemplation is also a path to knowledge.

The Absolute Circle is a work about love that cannot be realised, about the striving of two hearts for unity, and about the abyss separating them. Inside the lover is a child, striving towards the warmth and light of the other, but his own light tears him apart without being divided.

“The artist adds another phenomenon to the endless stream of the visible with each painting. In the night of the unmanifest, he cuts the vein in order to extract, gently, but most often by force, lines and spots, arrays of the visible” (J.-L. Marion ‘Crosshairs of the Visible and Invisible’)

The story of the acquisition of a friend whom he had been waiting for for many years, whom he saw but did not know, felt, but only in inner contemplation. The approach of an invisible friend clothe him in material features, he sees his path, he is heading towards the goal. Waiting and walking are united by a common light, which serves as a guide to convergence.

If for an artist the most important philosophical question is the question of the essence of a Person, then for him there is no more successful genre than a portrait. The human face and body are incredibly expressive, even in natural images they can already say much more about themselves than simply declare a certain set of qualities available to visual experience.

An allusion of emotionality and vitality, chained inside the heart. Quasar is the brightest and strongest cosmic source of energy, emitting four types of radiation. A quasar is both a nascent galaxy and a black hole energy. Every human being is capable of becoming a galaxy.

In portraits, it is possible to reveal the depth of feelings, intelligence, worldview of the character. He can be fictional or real, but it does not matter who he is, what matters is what is written in his eyes and gestures. And even the very face and body of the depicted character can be a second canvas, a deep picture within the picture, where possible readings can be multiplied by means of additional symbols and color.

Illustration of the protagonist of the film "The Double", based on the story of Dostoevsky. A frame depicting a person after a desperate fall and falling into the depths of despair. The painting is of great importance for the artist, as it reveals his own style in painting and most significantly reflects a person's psychological experience of despair.

The artist should not help the viewer to read the picture, he should leave it after completion, as parents let go of children who have reached maturity. Interpretation, as the Italian writer and philosopher Umberto Eco pointed out, is already the viewer's task.

The picture is about one of the strongest sides of love - a sense of security and support in difficult times and about the willingness to be everything for another. The painting is in two images, the second part depicts a couple from the other side.

“Interpretation cannot be the only one, it can come close to the intentions of the author, but it should not at all.”

This picture is about the unconscious inner movement of souls, about the expressive dance of emotionality, in this case - in response to anxiety and panic. Inspired by the work of Pina Bausch.

Contrary to Umberto Eco, one could say that in painting there should not be an ideal spectator, and every interpretation should have a right to exist. This is the advantage of a work of art - it speaks in different languages without the language itself, if the viewer goes towards the work, the dialogue will already take place. Therefore, an artist is a person who is able to reveal the possibilities of dialogue to any potential viewer, to reveal his intention to dialogue, an inner desire to talk about what cannot be expressed in language, about what is beyond its limits, and beyond cognoscibility.

Drawing from the cycle of works "Suicides", showing creative famous people (in this case - the French poet Jean-Pierre Duprey) who committed suicide, as well as depicting the weapon of suicide.

The portrait painter presents the viewer with the opportunity to talk about himself - about the deepest riddle of humanity, especially relevant in the modern world, when subjectivity again claims its rights, when a person is freed physically, spiritually, intellectually, sexually from the paradigms that fettered his consciousness. This denial returns a person to the origins, the white color of Nothing, something that has not yet arisen, but full of the potential of future self-creation.

A work illustrating auto-aggression as a way of forgetting pain by a person. Bloodletting is a previously used method of treating many diseases. Rivers of blood - an allusion to the river Lethe, or "oblivion", which is an integral part of the kingdom of death. The dead are those who have lost their memory. People who have rejected the past experience metaphysical death.

“Person is a bottomless abyss, the bottom of which will never be seen, so no matter how much we try to describe his nature in its entirety, we will never reach this goal.”
